Heavy Fabrication Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Heavy Fabrication Supervisor to join our Naval Base workshop on a full time, permanent basis. This position has become available due to the retirement of a long-serving team member, making it an excellent opportunity to step into a well-established leadership role.

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supervising our fabrication team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily fabrication activities to meet production schedules and quality requirements.

- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and client requirements.

- Monitor compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans and company procedures.

- Allocate work to fabrication personnel and monitor productivity.

- Mentor, coach and develop workshop employees.

- Ensure only approved materials and consumables are used throughout production.

- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, including risk assessments and hazard identification.





- Manage incidents, reporting and documentation in line with company procedures.

- Support performance management and ongoing employee development.

- Complete production and job documentation as required.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Proven experience supervising teams within a heavy fabrication workshop.

- Trade qualification in Fabrication, Boilermaking or Welding.

- Strong ability to interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.

- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
