This successful accounting firm continues to grow, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tax Accountant to join the business in a leadership position where robust technical and mentoring capabilities will be key to success.

If you're an experienced public practice accountant who enjoys solving complex technical issues, reviewing high-quality work and developing others while working alongside highly experienced Client Managers, this could be exactly the role you've been looking for.

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to become the firm's technical expert, responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency and compliance of accounting and taxation work across the practice.

You will be the go-to person within the business for all taxation queries. You will manage a team of four onshore and offshore Accountants, ensuring they deliver completed jobs to the Client Managers, ready for presentation to clients. Your technical leadership, ability to review complex work and commitment to consistency will help drive excellence across all taxation matters.
Your expertise will also be called upon during selected client meetings, where you will provide specialist taxation advice on complex queries.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading the firm's technical review and quality-assurance function.
- Managing, mentoring and developing a team of onshore and offshore accountants.
- Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and workpapers across a diverse client portfolio.




- Providing expert guidance on complex taxation matters, including CGT, FBT, Division 7A, trusts and business structures.
- Providing technical coaching and constructive feedback to strengthen team capability.
- Supporting Partners and Client Managers with complex technical and advisory matters.
- Developing technical templates, review processes and best-practice methodologies.
- Driving continuous improvement, compliance and risk-management initiatives across the firm.

About You
You'll be someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting and takes pride in producing exceptional work while enjoying helping others develop.
You'll also bring:

- Significant experience within Australian public practice.
- A CA or CPA qualification, or near completion with strong technical expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards.
- Proven experience reviewing complex accounting and taxation work.
- Previous experience mentoring and/or leading accounting professionals.
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- Experience using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and contemporary practice-management systems.
