Join an equipment hire depot in a hands-on role with forklift operation, equipment maintenance and yard duties

Your new company

Our client is a well-established provider of equipment and asset solutions servicing a range of industries including construction, mining, infrastructure and industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a reliable and hands-on Yardhand to join their Townsville depot on a labour hire basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right person.

Your new role

Working Monday to Friday, this role will see you responsible for the movement, presentation and maintenance of a variety of hire equipment and assets. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with machinery, has strong forklift operating experience and is mechanically minded.
While the role is primarily depot-based, there will be occasional travel to customer sites to carry out equipment repairs, deliveries and collections.
Key responsibilities include:

- Operating forklifts, including top loader forklifts (highly desirable)

- Moving equipment such as excavators, rollers, skid steers and other hire assets throughout the yard

- Cleaning and detailing equipment to ensure it is hire-ready

- Conducting minor repairs and maintenance to equipment and containers

- Painting, buffing, replacing decals and preparing assets for hire

- Attending customer sites to repair damaged containers and equipment





- Delivering and collecting accessories and equipment as required

- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment

What you'll need to succeed

- Current LF Forklift Licence

- Previous experience operating a top loader forklift highly regarded

- Alternatively, extensive forklift operating experience in a yard, logistics or industrial environment

- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance

- A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to get involved wherever required

- Strong commitment to workplace safety

- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
