The Role
Kevlar Group are seeking a qualified Fibre Splicer with telecom and fibre optic skills and experience to join our expanding team on current and existing projects across Western Australia. The projects are based in both Perth Metro and Regional areas.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Fibre Splicer will be responsible for:
Install, splice, maintain and termination of Fibre Optic cable and devices.
Termination of underground Fibre Optic systems and connection modules.
OTDR, power meter & light source fibre optic commissioning.
Collate and maintain project tracking information such as fibre workbooks, production sheets, time sheets and client required paperwork.
Installation of Carrier Equipment.
Data Centre/POI patching and Installations
Essential Requirements/Skills/Qualifications
Qualifications in Communications ideally Certificate III.
At least 2 Years’ experience in terminating and splicing of fibre optic cables.
Experience with Carrier Grade network topology, use of OTDR, power meter and all forms of fibre fault and maintenance identification process’
OH&S; Construction Industry White Card
Demonstrated sound knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety.
Valid Driver’s Licence – “C” Class.
Carrier accreditations.
