GENERAL TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT PTY LTD is currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our growing team in Kewdale, WA, 6105. Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable tradesperson to support the assembly, fitting, and maintenance of transport equipment and related mechanical components. This is a full-time permanent position offering an annual salary of $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and equipment.
Inspect and test completed work to ensure quality and accuracy. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and preventative maintenance. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work setting.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
A relevant trade qualification as a Fitter or equivalent. A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Fitter or in a similar role. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
