We're looking for a Demi Chef to join the kitchen at Etta.

Etta is a neighbourhood restaurant that's been part of Brunswick East for almost a decade. We cook thoughtful, seasonal food, work closely with great producers and care deeply about creating a restaurant people genuinely want to come back to.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, loves being organised and enjoys being part of a kitchen where everyone pulls together. You'll be trusted to run your own section, work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef, and help guide the junior chefs around you.

This is a role for someone who wants to keep getting better. We love curious people who ask questions, care about the details and want to grow into more senior positions over time.

About the role

You'll take ownership of your section from prep through to service, making sure everything is organised, consistent and ready to go before the first guests arrive.

You'll work with seasonal produce, execute dishes to a high standard every service and help maintain a calm, qualified kitchen where everyone is accountable for the work they do.





You'll also play an key role in mentoring junior chefs, leading by example and helping create the kind of kitchen people enjoy coming to work in.

We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience as a Chef or a strong Commis ready to step up
Is organised and works well under pressure
Takes pride in consistency and attention to detail
Enjoys mentoring and supporting junior team members
Understands the importance of preparation, cleanliness and teamwork
Wants to keep learning and developing their skills
Is reliable, kind and genuinely enjoys hospitality
