McArthur have partnered with Wheatfields Residential Aged Care to help find an outstanding Physiotherapist to join their growing team. You will be integral to providing onsite care plans, programs and clinical services to the residents in the 33 bed facility. With a small team, you will be able to provide person-centred care, help direct and mentor the AHAs and commit to quality care standards in your practice.
There will also be exciting prospects as Wheatfields expands to 72 residents. This could include in you developing your own community-based practice from our site, providing rehabilitation services through our current gym, and supporting staff with return-to-work programs. We see this as a long-term partnership that will benefit both Wheatfields and the wider Freeling community.
About the Service:
Current capacity of 44 beds, reducing to 33 beds in November 2025 before increasing to 72 beds in March 2026
Predominantly high care residents
Supported by two Allied Health Assistants, providing coverage Monday to Friday
Documentation completed via Lee Care, with remote access available if required
Key Responsibilities:
Review and oversee AHA-led wellness programs, including strength, flexibility, balance, 1:1 exercise and group exercise therapy
Develop reablement and rehabilitation programs for residents with reduced mobility, injury, surgery or chronic illness
Support AN-ACC-related care planning, including care plan reviews and pressure area monitoring
Complete risk assessments relating to mobility, wheelchair use and resident safety
Provide ad-hoc physiotherapy support following falls or for new admissions
Deliver manual handling training to staff twice yearly
Participate in regular reviews with AHAs and the Clinical Manager to support resident outcomes and continuous improvement
About You:
Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist
Experience in aged care, rehabilitation or community physiotherapy
Strong skills in mobility assessment, falls prevention, exercise prescription and functional rehabilitation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
