Masala Bite is a busy Indian restaurant in Innisfail seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to prepare high-quality dishes for our dine-in and takeaway service. This is an excellent prospect for a qualified cook who takes pride in consistent, authentic cooking.

Key duties and responsibilities
Prepare, season and cook a range of Indian and contemporary dishes to the restaurant's standards and recipes;
Prepare curries, tandoori items, breads, rice dishes, entrées and accompaniments to order during service;
Portion, plate and present food attractively and consistently;
Monitor stock of ingredients, assist with ordering and take delivery of supplies;
Maintain a clean, protected and hygienic kitchen in line with food safety and WHS requirements;
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely; and
Assist with menu preparation and support other kitchen staff during busy periods.





Skills and experience required
A relevant qualification in commercial cookery (AQF Certificate III or higher), OR equivalent relevant work experience as a cook;
Demonstrated experience preparing Indian cuisine or similar high-volume à la carte cooking;
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen WHS practices;
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service;
Reliability, positive teamwork and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis; and
Working rights in Australia (or eligibility to be sponsored).

Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
