O’sushi Coolangatta is a beachfront Japanese fast paced casual dining restaurant with a sushi train along with a la carte dining. We have an prospect for a fulltime chef to join our team, someone who is creative, passionate, enjoys a fast paced kitchen with an eye for detail and a love of Japanese cuisine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Ø Cooking and preparation of all menu items to O’sushi consistent high standard, recipe’s, presentation and quality

Ø Maintaining portion control

Ø Follow a high standard of food safety and hygiene procedures

Ø Stock control to minimise waste

Ø Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and work station

Ø Ordering stock

Ø Creating specials and costing of these items





Applicants for this position require at least 1 year of relevant full time experience to be considered for this position and should:

Ø Have relevant formal qualifications

Ø Be a team player with a love of food and strong work ethic

Ø Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ø Ability to stay calm and keep high standards under pressure

Ø Flexibility to work all days and hours of trade including weekends and public holidays

Ø Passion for Japanese cuisine and delivering a premium product

Ø Strong overall culinary experience including experience in making sushi and specialty sashimi skills

Ø Experience in a rapid paced, high volume kitchen

Pay: $77,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
