Payroll Team Lead

NW People is a proudly locally owned recruitment business specialising in blue‑collar, white‑collar, and technical staffing solutions. We’re a growing team of 10 who take pride in delivering exceptional service to our clients and candidates every week and now, we’re looking for an experienced payroll lead to join us and lead our payroll function.

In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll oversee the end‑to‑end processing of a large weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our systems. You’ll also play a key part in driving process improvement and system implementation projects as we continue to grow.

About the role
Managing the full payroll cycle for a high‑volume weekly labour hire workforce
Leading and developing a small payroll team, fostering a team-oriented and high‑performing culture
Overseeing system implementation and optimisation to streamline payroll processes
Ensuring compliance with all relevant awards,



legislation, and internal policies
Partnering with operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and integrity

About you
Proven experience managing high volume, end‑to‑end payroll within a labour hire or recruitment environment
Strong system and tech capability, confident implementing and improving payroll systems
Excellent attention to detail with robust award interpretation knowledge
Solid people leadership and communication skills
