We are seeking to appoint an Aboriginal Diversion Officer.
Responsibilities
Provides alcohol and other drug assessment, referral and intervention to offenders with a drug use problem, appearing in the Magistrate’s Court as part of a Diversion Program.
Delivers alcohol and other drug community development, prevention and early intervention programs within the project’s rural and remote communities.
Liaises with the Aboriginal Health Program Officer of the Drug and Alcohol Office regarding the specific supports required for the implementation of the program.

Eligibility to Apply: Pursuant of Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the occupant of this position must be of Aboriginal descent.

WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.
