Harrison McMillan has partnered with a respected commercial electrical contractor delivering major projects across the region, and are looking for a high-calibre Operations Manager to join their leadership team. This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who has come up through the trade, has managed on tier 1 projects, and is ready to step up and make a real impact across the business.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing project delivery and supporting a team of 5 Project Managers across multiple commercial projects.Your key responsibilities will include:Managing procurement, programming, and project timelinesOverseeing commercial performance, variations, and cost controlIdentifying and mitigating risk across projectsSupporting, mentoring, and guiding Project ManagersEnsuring projects are delivered safely, on time,
and within budgetContributing to overall operational strategy and business performanceThis role will require occasional travel (approx. 1 day per month).
About You
We’re looking for a calm, experienced leader who can confidently manage competing priorities and bring structure to complex projects.You will have:A trade qualification in Electrical (essential)Extensive experience managing Tier 1 commercial construction projectsProven experience in a senior leadership or operational roleStrong commercial acumen and understanding of project financialsThe ability to remain calm, considered, and solutions-focused under pressureA willingness to be hands-on and step in where needed
