What you'll be doing
Provision of surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care of surgical oncology unit patients, undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research.
Involvement in MDT meetings for sarcoma, non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma and thyroid cancer.
Participation in the roster for on-call for the Acute Surgical Unit.
Involvement in audit meetings for the Department and General Surgery.
Responsibility for the maintenance of quality of all aspects of service delivery and the effective use of resources within Western Sydney Local Health District.
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Must have obtained fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent
Evidence of continuing medical education and self‑monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice in an setting appropriate to the requirements of the position.
Sound clinical knowledge and experience in general surgery/ head and neck surgery/surgical oncology
Familiarity with the natural history and biological behaviour of melanoma, non‑melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), thyroid cancer, sarcoma and malignancy of the head and neck.
High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence based best practice. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
