We're currently seeking an experienced Welder to join a leading State Government organisation. This is an excellent chance for a skilled welder with TIG welding experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining a strong focus on safety. Working as part of a skilled workshop team, you'll be responsible for carrying out precision welding and fabrication work on rail equipment and associated components.
This is an immediate start, offering full-time hours (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday from 7:15am to 3:45pm, with an RDO every four weeks. The initial assignment is for 6 months, with the potential for extension.
Duties
Perform high-quality TIG welding on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
Carry out fabrication, repair and maintenance work to required standards.
Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
Safely operate welding equipment and workshop tools.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all workplace health and safety procedures.
Work collaboratively as part of a workshop team to meet production deadlines.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience as a TIG Welder (essential).
Ability to produce high-quality, precision welds.
Experience interpreting technical drawings and welding specifications.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Physically fit and capable of performing workshop-based duties.
Ability to provide two recent work references.
Ability to pass a National Police Check.
