Golding are seeking a skilled Shotfirer to become part of our team at the Meandu Mine, located near Kingaroy. Local candidates are encouraged to apply (no camp available). This role operates on a residential dayshift only lifestyle roster.
Key role Tasks
Plan and prepare blasting activities in line with the mine plan and blast design.
Conduct pre-blast inspections and risk assessments to ensure secure blasting conditions.
Safely transport, handle, store, and account for explosives and detonators.
Load explosive products into drilled blast holes according to blast specifications.
Tie-in and test blast initiation systems (electronic, non-electric, or electronic detonators).
Establish blast exclusion zones and ensure all personnel and equipment are cleared.
Conduct final safety checks and execute blasting operations.
Work closely with drill and blast, production, engineering, and mine operations teams.
Promote protected work practices and contribute to continuous improvement of blasting performance.

QLD Shotfirers Licence
Current QLD Explosives Security Clearance
Current Drivers Licence
Current Standard 11
Ability to pass a Coal Board medical exam, functional capacity assessment, and drug & alcohol screening
