The Remington Muswellbrook is the leading hotel in the Upper Hunter Region and renowned for delivering exceptional hospitality, quality dining and outstanding guest experiences.
We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining exceptional food quality, leading and developing the kitchen team, managing kitchen performance, and ensuring effective and profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day kitchen operations.
Deliver consistent, high-quality food and service.
Develop seasonal menus and daily specials.
Manage food costs, labour costs, stock control and purchasing within budget.
Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS and hygiene standards.
Oversee stocktakes, ordering systems and supplier relationships.
Work collaboratively with the hotel management team to continually enhance the guest dining experience.
About You
Trade qualified Chef (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Full Australian working rights.
Proven experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
Proven ability to manage food and labour costs within budget.
Solid leadership skills with experience coaching, mentoring and managing performance.
Experience within hotel or premium restaurant environments.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Computer literacy, including experience with ordering and rostering systems.
A passion for quality food, innovation and continuous improvement.
