We offer attractive hourly rates plus penalty rates on overtime, a permanent full‑time position, and work days Monday to Friday starting at 7:00 am.

How you’ll be a part of our team

As a member of the Coates team, you’ll enjoy a supportive workplace that values technical skill and customer service. Your role will be based at the Port Kembla branch and will support the regional service area.

Duties

Coates Field Service Mechanics are responsible for repair of Coates hire equipment and machinery on customer sites.
Perform secure, effective and effective preventative maintenance, service and overhaul as required.
Deliver a level of trust and commitment to our customers that Coates is the right supplier for the project.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of equipment on site – work on large earthmoving machines, generators, lighting plants and boom lifts.
Ensure spare parts inventory is sufficient to complete on‑site repairs.

Qualifications
Relevant trade qualifications
Experience with petrol and diesel motors, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical skills
Driver’s licence (preferably MR or HR)
Forklift and EWP tickets – beneficial
Effective time management and attention to detail
Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
Experience with boom or scissor lifts is advantageous
