Mater Education has an exciting chance for a dynamic and experienced Vocational Education Teacher to join us in a casual capacity to deliver high‑quality accredited and non‑accredited health and clinical programs to diverse community groups. This position is based at our Townsville campus.
What you’ll be doing
Deliver effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments.
Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques responsive to various cohorts.
Contribute to developing and evaluating teaching and learning resources, assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment.
Ensure that students adopt and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment.
Contribute to the evaluation and review of educational programmes.
Participate in relevant professional learning activities.
Undertake general administration duties including marking and students’ attendance.
Represent Mater Education at expos and events as required.
About you
Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM)
with a current APHRA registration.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), or TAE40116.
Valid Working with Children Card (Blue Card).
Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to other locations as required.
Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed (strongly desirable for accredited programmes).
Solid background in health or clinical education.
Excellent communication skills and passion for lifelong learning.
Demonstrated understanding of the VET sector and experience working within an RTO environment (preferable).
Detailed understanding of the relevant profession and accreditation requirements.
Strong adherence to policies, procedures and industry requirements.
Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team.
