The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions represents the State of Queensland in criminal cases. The role of Senior Crown Prosecutor is responsible for prosecuting matters in the Supreme Court, District Court and the Children's Court of Queensland, as well as appearing on matters in the Magistrates Courts in some jurisdictions.
The successful applicant will be admitted as a legal practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia and:
possess a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of criminal law practice
have demonstrated ability to prepare and conduct complex and difficult court proceedings
have a superior ability to communicate and engage with victims of crime, using a trauma informed approach
possess robust communication and leadership skills.
