Subsea Mechanical / Hydraulic Technician
Location: Offshore / Workshop-Based (FIFO/Offshore rotations as required)
Industry: Oil & Gas / Subsea / ROV Tooling
We are currently seeking an experienced Subsea Mechanical / Hydraulic Technician to join a leading team supporting offshore operations and subsea tooling projects. This role will suit a hands‑on technician with strong fault‑finding capability and experience working with complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and test electronic equipment, subsea tooling, and associated assets
Service and maintain subsea assets and engineered tooling
Interpret and work from hydraulic and electrical schematics, as well as engineering drawings
Operate a range of hand, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively
Perform fault-finding across mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems
Complete detailed testing and servicing documentation to a high standard
Accurately enter and manage data within project and asset management systems
Conduct quality checks to ensure tools meet design, assembly, and functional requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Hydraulics (or similar)
3–5 years’ experience in a similar role
Proven offshore experience within Oil & Gas, Subsea, ROV, or ROV Tooling environments
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Strong fault-finding and problem‑solving skills
Tickets & Certifications
Current BOSIET / FOET (with CA-EBS)
Ability to pass OGUK Medical
Valid Forklift Licence (desirable)
Skills & Attributes
Solid computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)
Robust understanding of safety systems including Step Back 5x5, JSEA, and HSEQ
High attention to detail and quality standards
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
Willingness to learn and develop within a specialised subsea environment
