We are looking for an experienced Quarry Manager to lead the team at our Axedale Sand & Gravel Quarry in Country Victoria, 25 minutes East of Bendigo. Reporting to the Area Manager, this role is a multi‑faceted position overseeing daily operations, including production, continuous improvement, health & safety, logistics and full P&L; responsibility.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team, driving performance and achievement of goals.
Make strategic business decisions that impact performance: set KPIs, financial planning, budgeting, and cost management.
Oversee day‑to‑day quarry operations, including development, storm water and environmental management, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Champion rehabilitation and sustainability initiatives to maintain industry reputation.
Manage high‑risk activities, implementing a solid safety mindset and reducing risk exposure.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence decisions and negotiate outcomes.
Maintain a zero‑harm culture, ensuring compliance with risk management protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience as a quarry manager or supervisor with relevant industry qualifications.
Strong leadership experience and a track record of transformational change in complex settings.
Capability to support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
Proven safety mindset with total commitment to risk management and Zero Harm .
Team player with ability to multi‑task and make timely decisions under pressure.
Positive communicator, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
High resilience and adaptability to changing situations.
