The Role

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for leading and supervising the school's cleaning team, ensuring all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard and in accordance with Department policies and procedures. This includes organising daily work schedules, maintaining the cleaners' time records, reporting staff absences, arranging relief staff when required, and providing on-the-job induction and training for current employees.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning-related matters, ensuring advice and practices remain current, consistent, and compliant with Department requirements. They will participate in monthly cleaning inspections, monitor and manage staff leave entitlements, and ensure all leave and allowance documentation is completed accurately before submission.

Qualifications & Eligibility
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.




Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
Be an Australian or Recent Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
