We are seeking an experienced Paint and Blast Supervisor to join our team onsite for an outage on a power station just north of Brisbane.
As a Supervisor you will deliver high‑quality project services to the client and provide supervision and coordination as directed by the Outage Superintendents, Project Manager and the client.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise abrasive blasting and industrial painting crews.
Manage daily blasting and painting activities.
Ensure correct surface preparation and coating application.
Coordinate inspections and quality of work.
Ensure correct material, machinery, equipment and personnel are available and suitable for completion of work.
Conduct toolbox / pre‑start meetings daily.
Assess risks and hazards involved in tasks and implement methods to manage them to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
Maintain daily timesheets for labour and equipment.
Ensure that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that company procedures are followed.
Drive safety culture in line with UGL and client requirements.
Qualifications
Relevant trade certificate or qualifications.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Experience in maintenance or shutdown projects.
Experience working in a major hazard facility.
White Card, Working at Heights and Confined Space certificates.
Solid communication and written skills with the ability to establish clear lines of control and delegation.
Approachable, tactful with good time management skills.
Robust client focus and a genuine desire to assist team members.
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
