Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Project Lead
Located approximately 550km south-west of Cairns and just south of the base of the Gulf of Carpentaria, in the heart of the Gulf Savannah country, lies the quaint and beautiful town of Croydon.
Rich in history, boasting beautiful heritage buildings, the iconic Gulflander train, stunning sunsets and numerous trails for birdwatching, bushwalking, mountain biking and trail running.
Croydon offers a unique Outback experience while providing all the necessary services, including a supermarket, healthcare centre, schooling, and recreational facilities.
The Position: Reporting to the Director Corporate Services.
The ERP Project Lead and Finance Team Member is a fixed term project leadership role responsible for coordinating and delivering Council's transition to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Acting as the central link between Council staff, the ERP vendor, consultants, and executive leadership, the role ensures the implementation is delivered successfully, aligns with organisational objectives, and supports long-term operational improvement.
This position provides leadership across all stages of the project, including governance, business process review, stakeholder engagement, change management, data migration, testing, training, and go-live activities.




The position also provides support to the Finance Team in the delivery of their functions as required.
Skills / Experience Required: To be successful in the role, you will need:
Preferred
Qualifications in Business, Accounting, IT, Project Management, or related field.
Experience in local government or regional service delivery environments.
Experience leading or supporting system implementation projects.
Knowledge of finance functions, including AP, AR, rates, revenue, procurement, budgeting, reconciliations, and reporting.
Experience with process reviews, data migration, testing, training, or change management in finance or corporate services.
Ability to interpret financial information, improve processes, and communicate system needs to vendors and stakeholders.
Other
Ability to attend workshops, meetings, and training sessions across Council sites.
Ability to work flexible schedule during critical project phases (e.g., go‐live).
Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum current manual "C" class driver's licence
