Overview
The Safety and Quality Unit leads and supports system-wide safety and quality improvement; clinical governance and consumer experience initiatives across SA Health.
The Unit has a strong focus on strengthening system capability, improving patient outcomes and experience, and supporting consistent, high-quality care through policy, frameworks and system improvement activities.
Current portfolios within the Unit include national accreditation and consumer experience including patient-reported experience measures (PREMs).
This position contributes to statewide safety and quality priorities and initiatives.
The Applicant
The Senior Project Officer (ASO7&AHP3;).
Drives successful delivery of a range of complex safety and quality projects and initiatives that contribute to the development and implementation of policies, frameworks and strategies that support system-wide safety and quality improvement.
Works collaboratively with Local Health Networks, other service providers and stakeholders to coordinate and implement project plans and strategies to support statewide safety and quality initiatives.
Undertakes critical analysis of data and information to support evidence-based decision-making and proactively evaluates and monitors projects to identify issues and barriers, undertaking assurance and review activities to support continuous improvements.
Works in partnership with the Nursing Director Quality Programs, Safety and Quality Unit colleagues and leadership team to contribute to the achievement of key Unit goals and objectives.
In addition to the Senior Project Officer responsibilities outlined above, employees appointed at the RN/M3 provide clinical nursing/midwifery expertise to support statewide safety and quality improvement initiatives across SA Health.
RN/M3employees apply advanced clinical knowledge,



professional judgement and practice expertise to inform policy, project, assurance and system improvement activities.
They provide clinical advice and leadership to support evidence-based decision-making and contribute to improved outcomes for patients, consumers and health services.
Employees at this level exercise a significant degree of autonomy and professional accountability and are recognised as experts within their area of practice.
The successful applicant will be a highly organised and collaborative qualified with demonstrated experience leading complex projects, programs or improvement initiatives in a healthcare or related environment.
You will be able to:

Criminal History Screening Requirement
A 'National Police Certificate' NPC (also known as a 'Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check' NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient).
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Special Conditions
For AHP3
A degree level qualification in an Allied Health discipline, which gives eligibility for full membership of or registration with the relevant professional body as outlined in Commissioner's Determination 5.
For RN/M3
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
