The Position
The Australian and Recent Zealand International Scientific Drilling Consortium (ANZIC) manages researcher access to billion‐dollar international research infrastructure for collecting sub‐seafloor and sub‐surface samples of sediment, rocks, fluids and microbes throughout the world's oceans and across the continents.
This is achieved through managing participation in two international scientific collaborations – the International Ocean Drilling Programme (IODP) and the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP).
communications between all ANZIC's stakeholder groups both internationally (facility boards, panels, other Program Member Offices, Core and Data Repositories, and GeoDiscovery New Zealand) and nationally (14 member universities and 3 government agencies)
the agenda and activities of the ANZIC Governing Council and the ANZIC Science Committee
calls to ANZIC researchers to apply for scientific drilling expeditions at sea and projects on land, and international and national workshops and other activities
The ANZIC Coordinator is also responsible for the effective administration of ANZIC and for monitoring and reporting of ANZIC finances.
The Person




To excel in this role you will have a strong track record of providing high‐level advice on a wide range of policies and procedures, implementing strategic initiatives, financial administration, committee support, event coordination, grant management, and drafting communications and general correspondence with a range of stakeholders.

The ANZIC Coordinator will be a member of the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES), Australia's leading academic research institution for Earth and Marine Sciences, and ranked 20th in the world for Earth and Marine Sciences (QS World University Rankings by Subject ****).
The College
The ANU College of Science and Medicine encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross‐disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres.
