GWG Recruitment is partnering with an iconic FMCG brand to recruit an experienced Policy Writer for an approximately six-month project.
Based on the Central Coast, this is a full-time hybrid opportunity requiring an initial onsite presence of three to four days per week.
Reporting to the Head of Finance and Shared Services, and working alongside WHS and training professionals, you will support the review and development of the organisation's Work Health and Safety Management System documentation.
The opportunity
This project will focus on ensuring the organisation's WHS policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and supporting resources remain current, compliant and fit for purpose.
You will translate legislative requirements and business needs into clear, practical documentation that can be consistently understood and applied across a large and diverse operational environment.
Key responsibilities
Review and develop WHS policies, procedures, standards and supporting resources
Translate legislation and regulatory requirements into clear, practical documentation
Conduct policy gap analyses and compliance reviews
Ensure documentation meets governance, industry and operational requirements
Consult with WHS professionals, operational leaders and subject matter experts
Support the continuous improvement of the organisation's WHS Management System
About you




You will be an experienced policy or technical writer who can confidently interpret complex information and turn it into practical, user-friendly documentation.
To be considered, you will ideally offer:
Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing policies, procedures or management system documentation
Strong technical writing and written communication skills
The ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into practical workplace documentation
Knowledge of governance, compliance and document management principles
Strong stakeholder consultation and relationship management skills
A relevant tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Business, Communications, Risk Management, Human Resources or a related discipline
