About the Role:
As a professional People Partner, do the words; advocacy, business-lever, integrity and partnership stand out to you?
In our evolving, impactful and purposeful industry of renewable energy, ASL has already made significant inroads for Australia's future and with the support of a Senior People Partner, we are excited to continue this work.
Our people are the cornerstone to this work and as a result, we have created a role for a senior member of the People and Culture team, to steer our teams forward, confidently, capably and happily!
The Senior People Partner is a pivotal role within the People and Culture function with dual accountability — acting as a trusted strategic partner to key business portfolios, while leading and developing a small but high-impact people team.
Partnering with Commercial, System Planning & Financial Markets (SPFM) and Legal, you shape organisational design, workforce planning and talent strategies, ensuring people risks are proactively managed, and capability aligns to current and future business needs.
Beyond partnering, you own critical enterprise people frameworks and operating rhythms — from performance and capability cycles to organisational development and workforce planning — ensuring they are practical, consistent and embedded across the organisation.
You also play a key role in strengthening leadership capability, driving workforce strategy execution and ensuring people policies and practices remain current, compliant and fit for purpose in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted People Partner to senior leaders across Commercial, SPFM and Legal, providing strategic advice on organisational design, workforce planning, talent and complex employee relations
Lead the design and continuous improvement of people frameworks and policies (performance, capability, succession and people systems)
Own the strategic workforce planning agenda, including capability mapping,
future workforce design and translating insights into actionable plans
Drive the organisational development and leadership capability agenda, working with external providers to deliver impactful learning and development outcomes
Lead the performance and capability cycle, including calibration processes to ensure consistency and fairness across portfolios
Ensure HR governance, compliance and regulatory alignment, maintaining currency with legislative change and embedding policy updates effectively
Provide people leadership to the People & Safety Partner and People & Culture Coordinator, building capability, setting priorities and driving high-quality delivery
Oversee the delivery of enterprise people programs (e.g. wellbeing, WHS, DEI/RAP and OD initiatives) into portfolios, while supporting key governance forums and stakeholder engagement
Skills and Experiences:
You are an experienced and commercially astute People Partner who thrives in complex, regulated or technically specialised environments.
You bring:
Proven experience in senior business partnering, influencing leaders on workforce and organisational outcomes
Strong capability in organisational design, workforce planning and talent strategy
Deep understanding of employee relations and employment law, with sound judgement in complex or sensitive matters
Experience designing and embedding people frameworks, policies and operating rhythms
A track record in developing and coaching people practitioners, with a focus on building capability
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and pragmatic delivery
High levels of policy and regulatory literacy, with an ability to translate change into practical action
