The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure outcomes for Brisbane.
As the Senior Contract Officer, you'll lead the planning, procurement and administration of works and service contracts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with strong commercial outcomes.
Working on a diverse portfolio of construction and infrastructure initiatives, you'll provide expert advice that helps shape important decisions and drive successful project delivery.
In this influential role, you'll work closely with project teams, facility managers, Strategic Procurement, contractors and senior stakeholders to manage risk,



improve contractor performance and maintain high standards of governance and compliance.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
lead the procurement, evaluation, administration and reporting of construction and service contracts across a diverse project portfolio
provide expert commercial, contract management and risk advice to support informed decision-making and project success
monitor contractor performance and implement improvement strategies to achieve high-quality delivery outcomes
oversee project controls including budgets, forecasting, scope, schedules and change management activities
prepare and review procurement documentation, claims, variations and governance submissions to ensure compliance and transparency.
To be successful you will have:
strong experience managing procurement processes, tenders and contracts within a construction or infrastructure environment
highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve complex issues
excellent commercial acumen and experience managing budgets, variations, claims and financial performance
proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions to complex contract challenges
experience identifying,



assessing and managing contractual and project risks to achieve successful outcomes.
