What Will You Be Doing
The AUSIEX technology team is responsible for delivering solutions that provide market value and that keep that technology running smoothly, in order to help to secure and enhance the financial wellbeing of our clients and customers.
We are looking for a strong Senior Business Analyst who can bring structure, consistency and momentum to business and technology initiatives.
This role is suited to someone who can engage early with stakeholders and delivery teams, challenge scope constructively, and turn ambiguous business problems into clear, practical functional specifications and delivery-ready requirements.
You will work closely with business leaders, Product Owners, Solution Architects, SMEs and delivery teams to improve the quality of analysis, document current and future-state processes, and support delivery from discovery through to implementation.
This role is based in Sydney,



Melbourne or Perth and will have accountability for:
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage early and confidently with senior stakeholders, SMEs, and delivery teams to shape requirements before solutions are locked in.
Facilitate discovery workshops, requirements walkthroughs and stakeholder review sessions that create shared understanding and timely decisions.
Requirements & Analysis
Break down complex business and system problems into clear requirements, decisions, process impacts and delivery outcomes.
Produce high-quality functional specifications, business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that are clear, complete and testable.
Ensure requirements and proposed solutions align to strategic objectives, business outcomes and measurable benefits.
Identify delivery, process, operational and regulatory risks early and work with stakeholders to define mitigation strategies.
Delivery Support
Translate approved requirements into clear Jira Epics, Features and User Stories that are estimable, testable and traceable.
Support scrum teams through estimation, sprint planning and delivery by clarifying scope, dependencies and acceptance criteria.
Monitor alignment between requirements and delivered outcomes, raising gaps or scope drift early.
Process & Solution Design
Model current-state and future-state processes using BPMN, swimlanes and other process documentation techniques.
Work with Solution Architects and technical teams to support solution design, estimation and delivery planning.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge
Identify knowledge gaps in business context and system context, and actively close them through analysis, documentation and stakeholder engagement.
Identify gaps, dependencies, risks and opportunities for process improvement, standardisation or automation.
Provide coaching, guidance and quality assurance support to other Business Analysts, helping uplift analysis capability and consistency across the organisation
Essential Experience
5+ years' experience as Senior Business Analyst on complex business and technology initiatives.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including the confidence to influence, challenge scope and requirements constructively,



and build trust with senior business and technical audiences.
Proven ability to bring structure and consistency to analysis practices across projects, teams and individuals.
Proven ability to analyse complex problems, identify root causes and translate ambiguity into transparent recommendations, requirements and delivery options.
Strong experience writing functional specifications, business requirements documents, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Hands‐on experience documenting business processes using BPMN; experience with swimlane diagrams and current/future-state process maps is highly desirable.
Experience analysing data flows, business rules, integration requirements and data mappings across systems.
Experience working with Product Owners, Solution Architects, SMEs, Project Managers, vendors and multiple delivery teams.
Ability to build business and system context quickly, identify knowledge gaps, and document information so delivery success does not rely on a small number of individuals.
Strong Jira capability, including managing epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery traceability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex information simple, structured and actionable.
Highly regarded
Financial services experience, particularly stockbroking, online trading platforms or regulated environments.
Business analysis or agile certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, Scrum or SAFe.
Experience improving BA ways of working, templates, standards, quality assurance or communities of practice.

Stakeholders have confidence in requirements, scope and delivery decisions, resulting in minimal rework and requirement ambiguity.
Solution and scrum teams have enough detail to estimate, design, build, and test effectively.
Jira items accurately reflect approved scope and are assigned to the correct delivery teams.
Business questions, delivery clarifications, and review comments are managed in a timely way.
Projects move smoothly from initiation through approval, discovery, delivery, and implementation support
