Role Overview
Diamantina Shire Council is seeking an experiencedPlumberto join the Infrastructure Services team based in Bedourie.
This role is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing Council'swater, wastewater and stormwater systems, ensuring reliable services are delivered across the community.
The position works closely with the Town Services and Facilities Manager and plays an important role in maintaining essential infrastructure across the Shire.
The successful candidate will bring strong trade skills, the ability to work independently in a remote setting, and a commitment to providing high quality services to the community.
Job Offering
Salary:$100,000 – $110,000 plus superannuation (dependent on skills and experience)
3-year employment contract
Council vehicleprovided for work purposes
Subsidised Accommodation available -Accommodation options range from1-bedroom units to 3-bedroom housesdepending on household requirements
Approx.
$150 per week rent(partly furnished including washing machine, beds and fridge)




Relocation assistance up to $7,000may be considered depending on salary package and location of relocation

Key Responsibilities
Undertake installation, maintenance and repair ofwater, wastewater and stormwater infrastructureacross the Shire.
Perform testing, inspections and monitoring of water and sewer systems in line with regulatory requirements.
Maintain and repair reticulation networks and associated infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of the town's wastewater systems.
Provide technical advice relating to plumbing and drainage works to internal teams and community members.
Maintain plant, tools and equipment in accordance with Council procedures.
Assist with water quality testing to meet regulatory and health standards.
Prepare quotes for private plumbing works when required.
Ensure work complies with relevant legislation, building codes and safety standards.
Participate in on-call or after-hours work when operationally required.Contribute to a safe work environment and represent Council professionally within the community.
Qualifications and Experience
Trade qualification inPlumbing and Drainage
Licensed Plumber(Plumber and Drainer licence highly regarded)
Experience working onwater, wastewater and stormwater systems
CurrentC Class Driver's Licence
Construction IndustryWhite Card(or willingness to obtain)
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple tasks
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
HR Driver's Licence
Confined Space Entry certification
Backflow prevention, restricted electrical or other relevant trade certifications
Experience working withinLocal Government infrastructure operations
