About the Opportunity
We're looking for an experiencedData Governance Managerto lead the development and execution of our enterprise-wide data governance strategy.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work closely with Technology, Data, Risk and Business leaders to establish governance frameworks, improve data quality, strengthen compliance, and embed a culture of data stewardship across the organisation.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring our data is accurate, secure and well governed, enabling better business decisions and supporting our AI and data transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As the Data Governance Manager, you will:
Develop and implement the enterprise data governance framework, policies and standards.
Lead the organisation's data governance roadmap and maturity journey.
Establish clear data ownership, stewardship and accountability across the business.
Drive enterprise-wide data quality initiatives, including profiling, cleansing and continuous improvement.
Implement governance processes for metadata, data lineage,
master data and data classification.
Monitor governance performance through dashboards, KPIs and reporting.
Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, regulatory obligations and internal governance standards.
Partner with Legal, Risk and Security teams to identify and mitigate data risks.
Lead governance forums, working groups and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
Promote data literacy and build governance capability across the organisation.
Support AI readiness by ensuring trusted, high-quality and ethically managed data.
About You
To be successful, you'll bring:
5+ years' experience in Data Governance, Information Management or a similar leadership role.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
Robust knowledge of data quality, metadata management, master data management and data lineage.
Experience working with platforms such asMicrosoft Purview, Snowflake, Experian and/or Spirion.
Sound understanding of privacy legislation, compliance and information security principles.
Experience embedding governance into enterprise technology environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience supporting data and AI transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Business or a related discipline.
Industry certifications such asCDMP, DCAM, DGSP or ISO *****will be highly regarded.
