Role
The Inclusion Leader is a key member of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Team (SEWT) and provides strategic leadership to strengthen inclusive education outcomes across Williamstown High School.
The role leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of engagement, wellbeing and inclusion priorities within the Annual Implementation Plan.
Working collaboratively with Year Level Coordinators, Student Wellbeing Coordinators, Pathways and Transitions Leaders, Curriculum Leaders, students, families and external agencies, the Inclusion Leader drives a whole-school approach to inclusive practice that promotes equity, access and high expectations for all learners.
The role oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans, Disability Inclusion processes, Student Support Groups and special provision and targeted adjustments to ensure student needs are identified and supported in line with departmental and legislative requirements.
Through coaching, professional learning and strategic collaboration, the Inclusion Leader builds staff capacity to implement inclusive teaching practices, strengthen differentiation and deliver responsive curriculum and wellbeing supports.
The role also leads programs and initiatives that promote belonging, engagement, successful pathways and a safe,
inclusive school community, contributing to improved outcomes for all students and the achievement of the school's strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
Contribute as a member of the SEWT to the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan, to ensure inclusive, equitable and high-quality outcomes for all students
Drive a whole-school approach to inclusive education, ensuring all students are known, supported and challenged in line with their individual learning, wellbeing and health needs
Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans, in collaboration with Inclusion Coordinators and YLCs, ensuring compliance, meaningful differentiation and fulfilment of mandatory requirements, including for funded students, Koorie students and other identified cohorts
Oversee Disability Inclusion processes, including applications, documentation and adjustments, ensuring student needs are identified and supported in line with DET requirements
Build staff capacity to implement inclusive teaching practices, including differentiation, adjustments and the effective use of IEPs across all learning areas
Collaborate with the Curriculum and Teaching & Learning Team and Curriculum Area Team Leaders to ensure curriculum design and delivery are responsive to diverse student needs through coaching, induction and professional support
Lead and support Student Support Group processes, holding termly meetings for funded students and ensuring effective collaboration with parents/carers and external professionals to address student needs
Coordinate and allocate Disability Inclusion resources, including Education Support staff and Inclusion Coordinator, to maximise student access, engagement and learning outcomes
Contribute to the SEWT in identifying and responding to student wellbeing needs, including referral processes, targeted interventions and coordinated supports for individual students
Develop and implement programs and student-led initiatives that promote engagement, wellbeing, inclusion, belonging and a safe, respectful and all-gender inclusive school environment
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Homegroup Curriculum pertaining to inclusion and student belonging
Collaborate with the Pathways and Transitions Leader and other key staff to support appropriate transitions and pathways processes and post-school options for students with additional needs
Oversee the provision of VCAA Special Provision and school-based adjustments for students requiring additional support in assessment
Liaise with DET Student Support Services and external agencies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and access to appropriate supports for students
Lead the coaching and observation process to assist staff in implementing inclusion practices
Develop support plans as appropriate, including safety plans, emergency evacuation plans, camp/excursion plans and Behaviour Support Plans
Other duties as negotiated with Principal Class
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Qualification Requirements
The person must have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching; and
If the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January ****, they must demonstrate that they have satisfactorily completed a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program that has been accredited by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority as satisfying the requirements of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership 'Accreditation of initial teacher education programs in Australia: Standards and Procedures';
A person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July **** must also demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements (this condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian ITE program completed by the person).
