Reporting directly to an experienced Chief Financial Officer, you'll become a key member of a small, high-performing finance team where you'll gain broad exposure across financial reporting, project accounting, corporate compliance, process improvement and strategic finance initiatives.
This is more than a traditional Financial Accountant role.
You'll have the opportunity to help shape finance processes, strengthen controls and contribute to building a scalable finance function that supports the continued growth of the business and work directly with a dynamic and highly entrepreneurial founder.
About the opportunity
Working closely with the CFO, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the finance function across multiple entities while supporting the delivery of accurate reporting, strong governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Month-end close, journals, reconciliations and general ledger management
Preparing BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax and assisting with income tax compliance
Assisting with statutory financial reporting and year-end audit requirements
Maintaining robust financial controls across multiple entities
Supporting Board reporting and lender reporting requirements




Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
Driving finance process improvements and efficiencies
Supporting finance systems and reporting enhancements
Working alongside the CFO on a range of strategic finance projects
About you
We're looking for a technically strong accountant who enjoys improving processes, takes ownership of their work and wants to be part of a growing business.
You'll ideally have:
CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion)
Experience as a Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant
Solid financial reporting and month-end experience
Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
Experience preparing statutory compliance including BAS and IAS
Advanced Excel skills
Experience using Xero or similar accounting software
Property development, construction or public practice experience will be highly regarded
