An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded Investment Manager.
This role is ideal for a tax professional with deep expertise in superannuation or financial services, looking to lead a function where regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management sit at the core.
As Senior Tax Manager, you will lead the organisation's tax governance framework, ensuring full compliance with Australian tax legislation and regulatory expectations.
You will oversee all tax-related matters, drive rigorous reporting standards, and provide strategic tax advice that supports sound risk management and informed decision‐making across the business.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory bodies, you will play a critical role in maintaining best-practice tax controls, strengthening compliance processes, and safeguarding the fund's tax position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the tax function, ensuring compliance with all tax obligations including income tax, GST, and withholding tax.
Oversee accurate, timely tax reporting, lodgments, and regulatory submissions, maintaining high standards of governance and documentation.
Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice to optimise outcomes while upholding compliance integrity.
Manage relationships with the ATO, auditors, and external tax advisors, ensuring transparent communication and proactive issue resolution.
Monitor regulatory and legislative changes,
assessing impacts and implementing required updates to policies, controls, and reporting frameworks.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, compliance discipline, and continuous improvement.
Drive enhancements across tax processes, systems, and governance frameworks to strengthen risk management and operational resilience.
Skills & Experience Required
CA/CPA qualified, with extensive tax experience in superannuation, funds management, or financial services.
Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations applicable to superannuation funds.
Proven leadership capability with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and communicate complex tax matters clearly.
Strong analytical capability and a proactive, risk-aware mindset.
Experience liaising with regulators, auditors, and external advisors in a compliance-heavy environment.
