There are very few leadership opportunities in Australia that genuinely shape the future of an entire industry.
The Digital Industry Group Inc. (DIGI) is Australia's leading voice for the digital industry, representing many of the world's most influential technology and digital platform organisations.
Through policy leadership, advocacy and collaboration, DIGI works with Government, regulators and industry to help shape Australia's digital future.
North Star Partners has been exclusively retained to appoint DIGI's next Managing Director.
Reporting to the Board, this role will lead the organisation's strategic direction, represent the interests of its members at the highest levels of Government and industry, and ensure DIGI achieves its advocacy goals for its membership.
The Opportunity
As Managing Director, you will have responsibility for the overall leadership and performance of DIGI.
You will guide advocacy strategy across some of Australia's most significant digital policy issues, while leading a high‐performing team responsible for policy, communications and operations.
Working closely with Government, regulators and industry leaders, you will position DIGI as a constructive partner in the development of Australia's digital policy landscape, helping translate policy objectives into practical, well designed outcomes that support innovation, online safety and consumer confidence.
You will also serve as the public face of the organisation, engaging with Ministers, regulators, parliamentarians, media, industry leaders and civil society to influence outcomes that support a safe, innovative and thriving digital economy.
While highly strategic in nature, this role also requires a hands‐on leader who enjoys operating within a collaborative,

agile organisation where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction and overall management of DIGI.
Develop and execute advocacy strategies across digital regulation, online safety, consumer protection, privacy and the broader digital economy.
Position DIGI as a trusted and constructive partner to Government through strategic engagement and policy leadership.
Represent DIGI with Government, regulators, parliamentary committees, industry forums and the media.
Build consensus amongst founding members, navigating complex and often competing priorities to develop shared advocacy positions on significant policy issues.
Lead and develop the policy, communications and operations functions.
Oversee the preparation of submissions, consultation responses, thought leadership and advocacy initiatives.
Drive member engagement, acquisition and long‐term organisational growth.
Ensure robust governance, financial management and organisational sustainability.
Build trusted relationships across Government, industry, academia and civil society.
Contribute directly to policy development, strategic communications and stakeholder engagement where required.
About You
You are an accomplished executive with the credibility, judgement and communication skills to operate confidently with Australia's most senior decision‐makers.

You may currently be leading an industry association, member organisation, advocacy group, public policy function, government affairs team or a similarly complex stakeholder environment.
Equally, you may have built your career within Government, ministerial office or the technology sector and be looking for an opportunity to influence public policy at a national level.
You will bring:
Demonstrated executive leadership experience within policy, advocacy, government relations or a comparable environment.
Strong political judgement and the credibility to represent the interests of Australia's digital industry at the highest levels of Government.
Proven experience engaging constructively with Ministers, regulators, parliamentarians and senior public sector leaders.
Outstanding stakeholder engagement and consensus‐building capabilities, with the ability to balance diverse and sometimes competing interests.
Commercial acumen and experience leading organisational strategy, operations and financial performance.
Exceptional written, verbal and public communication skills.
Experience working with Boards and executive leadership teams.
A collaborative leadership style combined with a willingness to remain hands‐on when required.
A genuine interest in technology, digital policy and Australia's innovation landscape.
Why Lead DIGI?
This is an opportunity to lead an organisation influencing national policy, engage with some of the world's leading technology organisations and help shape the future of Australia's digital economy.
For an executive seeking purpose, influence and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact, opportunities of this calibre are exceptionally rare.
