Based from our Kurri Kurri, NSW facility, Alfabs Mining designs, manufactures, repairs and supports specialised underground mining equipment, including QDS, Secondary Support, Longwall Move and Material Handling Equipment used by some of Australia's leading coal mining operations.
We are seeking an experiencedElectrical Field Service Technicianto join our growing team.
This is a hands-on role providing electrical repairs and rebuilds with field service support across underground mine sites.

About the Role
Reporting to the Electrical Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the performance and reliability of underground mining equipment through electrical diagnostics, repairs and commissioning activities at customer mine sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing, fault finding and repairing electrical systems on underground mining equipment
Performing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and emergency call-outs at customer sites
Electrical assembly, refurbishment and commissioning of mining equipment
Installing, testing and commissioning electrical components and control systems
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Completing testing, inspections and documentation in accordance with statutory and company requirements




Providing exceptional customer service while building strong relationships with site personnel
Working safely and complying with all mine site and company safety procedures
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Electrical Trade Qualification – Essential, minimum requirement
AS**** Hazardous area inspection and Maintenance certification
Demonstrated experience working with AS**** explosion-protected (Ex) electrical equipment
Proven experience maintaining and repairing underground coal mining equipment.
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics
Current Australian Driver Licence
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a high-performing team
Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
Willingness to travel to customer mine sites and work overtime when required
Experience with PLCs, VSDs and mining automation systems
Highly Regarded
Underground coal mining experience
Current Coal Board Medical
AS**** repair and overhaul
