The Finance Officer - Accounts Payable is part of the Finance team that oversees the financial operation of the Whole School and the CGS Foundation.
This position will assist the financial operations of the School ensuring these are completed in an productive and accurate manner.
As a member of the Whole School Finance team, the key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Process Purchase Orders and Supplier Invoices accurately through the School's accounting program
Process all Creditor payments including Bank Transfers, International, BPAY and Direct debits
Monitor interest rates to facilitate Bank transfers of daily funds to manage School cashflow requirements
Maintain and develop the Creditor and Purchase Order components of the Schools online Financial System including assisting users with training and support
Assist in the management of the Staff Travel, Mobile Phone and Uniform Policy
Triage accounts inbox enquiries and assist with email and phone enquiries from staff and creditors
Other Finance Department and administrative duties as directed and required
Manage and distribute Finance Department mail
File audit trails, creditor documentation and other paperwork as required
Month-end reporting and reconciliations
Assist and manage other Finance Department functions if other team members are absent as directed and required
Follow-up on overdue payments with creditors
Maintain accurate records and reports in relation to accounts payable ledger
Document and maintain accurate database communication and correspondence records with creditors
Provide information when required to allow accurate reporting and budgeting
Liaise with Auditors during the interim and year-end process
Implement and update agreement of payments/direct debits with creditors
Back up for the daily processing of the Bank reconciliations
Assist and manage other Finance Department functions if other team members are absent as directed and required
Other Finance Department and administrative duties as directed and required
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
Experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of financial processes and accounts payable operations
A relevant tertiary degree or qualification
Excellent technological literacy across a range of applications
High level of attention to detail
The ability to work collaboratively with other members of staff
Administrative and organisational skills
Communication and interpersonal skills
All team members at CGS are required to have:
Appropriate qualifications
A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
A current National Police Check; and
Full working rights within Australia.
