Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant or early Assistant Manager to join our Tax & Accounting team based primarily in our Parramatta office.
This role is perfect for someone who is ready to step beyond preparing tax returns and financial statements and begin leading workflow, mentoring others and becoming a trusted adviser to both clients and colleagues.
If you're already operating at Assistant Manager level, we'll support you to continue developing your leadership capability.
About the Role
You'll become an integral part of one of our client delivery pods, supporting the successful delivery of tax, compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of SME clients.
Working alongside an Accounting Manager, you'll help coordinate workflow across both onshore and offshore teams, review work, support client relationships and continually improve the way we deliver services.
This role combines technical accounting expertise with leadership development, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their public practice career.
What You'll Be Doing
Technical Accounting & Tax
Review financial statements, income tax returns, BAS and supporting workpapers.
Support the timely completion and lodgment of compliance obligations.
Ensure work meets skilled standards, legislative requirements and internal quality expectations.
Assist with more complex accounting and tax matters and elevate issues where required.
Assist with more complex accounting and tax matters and escalat issues where required.
Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client service
Workflow Coordination
Coordinate workflow across onshore and offshore teams.
Monitor workload, deliverables and deadlines.
Support effective delegation and work allocation.
Act as a key link between offshore delivery teams and onshore leadership.
Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve productivity and service delivery.
Leadership & Development
Review work completed by junior and offshore team members.
Support coaching, mentoring and capability development.
Contribute to quality assurance and technical development initiatives.
Assist with process documentation and operational improvement projects.
Help build a scalable and high-performing delivery model.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping others succeed as much as they enjoy solving technical accounting problems.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience within an Australian public practice accounting environment.
Strong technical knowledge of:
BAS & IAS
Income Tax Returns
FBT
SME compliance requirements
Experience preparing and reviewing tax and compliance work.
Strong organisational and workflow management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skills.
Experience using Xero, Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
and related accounting software.
CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
Experience leading workflow, reviewing work or mentoring junior accountants will be highly regarded.Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the ambition and capability to continue growing into a leadership role.
