About The Role
Reporting to the Construction Director, you'll take ownership of the company's HSEQ strategy across its national project portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors to drive a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and industry best practice.
You'll play a key role in developing and improving HSEQ systems, supporting project delivery teams, mentoring operational staff, and ensuring safety remains at the forefront of every project.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and continuously improve the company's HSEQ management systems.
Provide leadership and support across multiple commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
Develop Secure Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and other HSEQ documentation.
Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
Coach and mentor project teams to promote a positive and proactive safety culture.
Ensure subcontractor compliance with company and legislative HSEQ requirements.
Monitor HSEQ performance and provide reporting to senior leadership.
Maintain compliance with WHS legislation, ISO standards and industry best practice.
Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
To Be Successful
Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or higher qualification).
Demonstrated experience in a Safety Manager or Senior HSEQ role within commercial construction, fit-out or refurbishment.
Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and ISO management systems.
Proven ability to influence, coach and engage operational teams.
Experience leading incident investigations and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance compliance and operational outcomes.
Current driver's licence and Australian working rights.
