My client is a well-established national head contractor with a strong reputation for delivering some of Australia's most complex data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Due to continued growth in the data centre sector, the business is expanding its Design Management team to support a significant pipeline of hyperscale developments, live environment upgrades and technically challenging data centre projects across Australia.
Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you will play a key role in managing the design process from pre‐construction through to project delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, specialist subcontractors and client stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes on large‐scale data centre developments.

Candidates with data centre experience are highly sought after; however, those who have delivered other technically complex projects including healthcare, laboratories, defence or critical infrastructure are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the design consultant team to deliver high‐quality design documentation on time, within budget and aligned with the project brief.
Manage the design process across large‐scale data centre projects from pre‐construction through to completion.




Oversee design reviews to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, statutory and building code requirements.
Drive design for constructability by collaborating closely with project teams, specialist subcontractors and building services consultants to optimise data centre design outcomes.
Contribute to construction methodology development, ensuring design solutions support efficient project delivery.
Maintain robust design quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely design decisions and successful project outcomes.
Skills & Experience
A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience delivering data centre projects is highly desirable.
Candidates from healthcare, laboratories, defence, critical infrastructure or other highly serviced technical building sectors will also be considered.
Strong capability in managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and coordinating complex building services design.
Sound knowledge of Australian building regulations, statutory approvals and design compliance requirements.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem‐solving skills.
The ability to thrive in a rapid‐paced environment while managing competing priorities and delivering high‐quality outcomes.
