Responsibilities
Day‐to‐day responsibilities include a variety of transactional and advisory matters across the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector.
This typically involves:
Private M&A; for tech‐sector clients.
Private capital raisings (both investor and company‐side roles) for early‐stage and high‐growth companies.
Joint venture and strategic partnering arrangements.
Support for startups and scaleups through Allens Accelerate, providing corporate governance guidance, equity incentive arrangements, and commercial contracting advice.
General commercial matters across all sectors to help clients grow and navigate evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.
Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrated experience in a leading corporate practice, with a focus on venture capital, private capital raisings, private M&A;, and corporate advisory.
Experience in joint ventures, corporate reorganisation, and equity incentives is helpful but not essential.
Experience in Australia or another common‐law jurisdiction, ideally with direct involvement in drafting and negotiation.
Ability to effectively manage smaller matters and elements of larger matters.
Willingness to participate in business development activities such as pitch documents, firm‐wide pursuits, article writing, attending industry events, and hosting seminars.
Desire and ability to grow, both as a lawyer and as a leader, and to build effective working relationships with clients.
Ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks, and to mentor and share experiences with colleagues.
