About the Role
Permanent opportunity in a hybrid working environment. Lead a high‐performing technical team of Test Automation analysts and leads across various business streams to embed and uplift automation capability while directly engaging in complex delivery challenges alongside project teams.
Using the Enterprise Test Automation Framework, you will provide governance and quality assurance for infrastructure projects, contribute to test strategy definition, framework adaptation and issue resolution, and guide the relevant Test Leads on the test approach. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Testing Services, you will work closely with other Team Leads and be a key contributor to protecting the security and stability of our technology estate.
Responsibilities
Lead, guide, and develop a team of 7–10 direct reports to achieve agreed outcomes and manage performance reviews.
Architect and evolve the Enterprise Test Automation framework (Java, C#) across the IT landscape and integrate with tools such as Puppet, Jira, and CI/CD systems.
Design, uplift and maintain automation solutions using Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, JUnit, SoapUI, and JMeter.
Develop framework features including unified data, configuration management, hooks, I/O handlers, listeners, CI/CD integration, and reporting dashboards (Azure SQL, Microservices).
Evaluate and select new tools, technologies and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality.
Collaborate with product teams to define and align long‐term automation roadmap, tools, framework and approach.




Provide quality assurance for project and program test deliverables and coordinate test resources across the software development life cycle.
Demonstrate people leadership, coaching and mentoring to build a high‐reliability operating culture and performance.
Qualifications
Test Automation Lead/Architect with hands‐on experience implementing Enterprise Test Automation framework (Java, C#) in an agile/DevOps (CI/CD) environment using Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright.
Solid experience in architectural design, framework development and test tool adoption.
Proficiency in Selenium, JUnit, SoapUI, Cucumber, JMeter, and automated testing best practices.
Experience integrating test frameworks with CI/CD pipelines, reporting tools and data services.
Ability to review and provide guidance on quality‐assurance frameworks and best‐practice test approaches.
Demonstrated people‐leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
Relevant degree qualifications.
