Role
Reporting into Hiroyuki Kano, the Senior Associate will collaborate with senior partners and associates on client‐centric projects across the Corporate Japanese Practice, applying corporate and commercial expertise in a culturally informed way.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior partners and associates on corporate governance, capital raising, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and commercial contract negotiation.
Participate in all stages of client engagement, from initial assessment through execution of deals.
Provide high‐quality legal support to Japanese clients, ensuring clear communication and client rapport.
Support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the Japanese practice.
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all legal deliverables and client correspondence.
Qualifications
Senior Associate experience in private practice or in‐house counsel.
Strong academic results from a recognised law school.
Fluent in writing and speaking Japanese; Japanese‐qualified Bengoshi preferred but not essential.
Proven experience on a range of corporate and commercial matters.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
Drive for personal development and expanding skill set to meet client needs.
Self‐starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
