Education and Training Officers facilitate and coordinate access to education, training and learning opportunities for people in the care of the Tasmania Prison Service.
The role supports equitable participation in vocational education and training (VET), tertiary study, digital learning, industry‐based work and employment‐linked pathways, contributing to reintegration, employment readiness and a reduction in reoffending.

Details of Appointment
$86,325 – $99,237 per annum.
Starting salary negotiable within range based on experience in a similar role.
Annual salary increase within this range in accordance with the Tasmanian State Service Award and Public Service Union Wages Agreement.

Responsibilities
Facilitate prisoner access to VET, tertiary and distance education, literacy, digital and non‐accredited learning programs
Coordinate education and training activities across facilities in alignment with operational schedules, security requirements and site capability
Engage with prisoners to assess education, training and learning needs in line with reintegration goals and provide guidance and support to learners, including referrals to appropriate supports as required
Collaborate with internal services to provide integrated rehabilitation to prisoners, including custodial, Industries and Activities and the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Unit
Engage, collaborate and support external Registered Training Organisations, Employment Providers and community‐based industry partners to facilitate learning and employment outcomes
Facilitate prisoner access and requests to education‐related digital systems and learning platforms in accordance with TPS and DoJ ICT requirements
Maintain data, reporting and information management systems to support prisoner learning and to support business performance and continuous improvement
Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competency and training of the occupant
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or a Diploma in a relevant field
Experience in a similar role
