Wood Australia is currently seeking expressions of interest for Field Superintendents to work in the Surat Basin of western Queensland.
The Role
You will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of work, leading a diverse workforce providing support and structure to achieve a reliable plant and the required business outcomes whilst communicating regularly with maintenance superintendents & operations superintendents to understand key risks, business threats and high priority deliverables.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead consistently against Wood's Safety Procedures and Code of Conduct, in conjunction with client Site Safety Procedures and requirements
Deliver best practice maintenance & asset availability for the client
Promote positive changes in organisational culture across the site
Accountable for the recruitment of resources for maintenance and project activities
Actively participate in the development and update of site based operating plans and processes
Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost effectiveness




Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports/respective team in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
Providing service delivery support to the business
Lead Safety meetings and team briefings
Deputising for Contract Manager as required
Dealing with various HR / IR related people issues to ensure effective individual and team performance and overall successful contract delivery to the client
Manage subcontractor performance across multiple work fronts, ensuring adherence to schedule, safety, and quality
Coordinate work in a live brownfield processing environment with minimal disruption to operations
Collaborate with planning, operations, and engineering teams to align priorities and resolve field issues
Qualifications

Relevant Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical trade background or tertiary qualification in mechanical, electrical, structural or construction management
Recognised and accredited management qualification would be advantageous




Minimum 10 years' experience in heavy industry preferably in Oil & Gas and Industrial sites undertaking maintenance, shutdowns and project delivery, with at least 5 years in superintendent or site leadership role
Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplined execution teams across civil, SMP, E&I; and industrial service scopes.
Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position
Multi-discipline execution
Subcontract Management (experience an advantage)
Strong background in brownfield industrial environments, ideally in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or chemical environments on remote sites
Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation
Proficiency in scope definition
Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical context
Professional demeanour, strong interpersonal skills
Able to demonstrate team building skills and capable of influencing people at all levels of the organisation
Flexible with can-do attitude
