A growing Australian business operating within the industrial and engineering sector is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Brisbane-based leadership team.
With operations continuing to expand both locally and internationally, the business is investing in its finance capability to support the next phase of growth. This newly created role offers the opportunity to work closely with the CFO, leading the day-to-day finance function while contributing to strategic initiatives, operational improvements and long-term succession planning.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll take ownership of the finance function, ensuring reporting, compliance and operational finance activities are delivered efficiently while providing leadership to a small finance team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance day-to-day finance management with business partnering, process improvement and project work. You'll work closely with operational teams, helping drive better financial visibility while strengthening systems, controls and reporting processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading month-end reporting, reconciliations and management reporting activities
Managing day-to-day finance operations, including working capital, cashflow and transactional oversight
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for senior leadership
Overseeing inventory, WIP and operational finance processes
Managing statutory compliance, audit preparation and tax-related activities
Leading and mentoring a small finance team while managing workflow and priorities
Driving process improvements, strengthening controls and enhancing finance systems
Partnering with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance and business outcomes
About you
You're an experienced finance professional who enjoys leading from the front. You're equally comfortable reviewing financial reports, partnering with operational stakeholders and getting into the detail when required.

You will bring:
CA or CPA qualification
Approximately 10+ years' experience across commercial accounting and finance
Previous leadership experience within a finance team
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, logistics or inventory-based environments will be highly regarded
Strong commercial and operational finance capability
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to partner across all levels of the business
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience advantageous) and a continuous improvement mindset
