About the role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary
Principal for Aspect Central Coast School
located in Terrigal, NSW. This is a
full-time position
that offers a unique prospect to lead a specialist educational institution dedicated to providing high-quality, tailored learning experiences for autistic students. As Principal, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and overall success of the school. This role is pivotal in creating an inclusive, supportive educational environment where every student can thrive and develop essential life and academic skills. You will work collaboratively with staff, families, and the broader Aspect community to drive continuous improvement and achieve exceptional educational outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Provide visionary and strategic leadership to ensure the school operates in alignment with Aspect's values and educational objectives
Develop and implement whole-school policies, procedures, and practices that promote inclusion, respect, and excellence in education
Oversee curriculum delivery and ensure teaching and learning practices are evidence-based and responsive to students' individual needs




Manage the school's budget, resources, and infrastructure to ensure optimal learning environments and operational efficiency
Lead, recruit, develop, and support a diverse team of educators and support staff, fostering a positive workplace culture
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with families and carers, ensuring open communication and shared responsibility for student outcomes
Ensure compliance with all relevant education legislation, regulatory requirements, and Aspect policies
Monitor student progress and wellbeing, implementing targeted interventions where necessary
Represent the school within the broader community and advocate for the needs of autistic learners
Drive continuous school improvement through data analysis, reflective practice, and evidence-based decision making
What we're looking for
A recognised teaching qualification and current teacher registration with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or equivalent
Substantial leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior educational leadership role such as Principal, Deputy Principal, or Head of School
Demonstrated expertise in special education, inclusive education practices, or autism-specific learning support
Strong understanding of Australian education standards, curriculum frameworks (such as the Australian Curriculum), and quality improvement processes




Proven experience in school strategic planning, financial management, and resource allocation
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, staff, and community partners
Knowledge of contemporary approaches to autism education and understanding of the neurodivergent community
A commitment to creating inclusive, safe, and welcoming learning environments for all students
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
A passion for empowering young people and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of autistic students
Desirable: Experience working with not-for-profit organisations or community-based educational settings
