Environment & Release Lead
12-Month Fixed Term Contract

We're seeking an Environment & Release Lead who thrives at the intersection of technology, governance, and stakeholder collaboration—someone who can orchestrate complex, multi-system releases while partnering closely with squads, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
About The Role
Reporting to the Technical Delivery Lead, you will own the end-to-end environment and release management capability across a sophisticated ecosystem including Dynamics 365, D2L, MuleSoft, Azure, and Power Platform.
This is a high-visibility role where your work directly impacts delivery confidence, program milestones, and business outcomes.
What You'll Do
Environment Strategy & Governance
Design and maintain a robust environment management practice across all systems
Own the environment register, lifecycle planning, and provisioning governance
Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and Database teams to ensure environments are secure, compliant, and optimised
Oversee data masking, patching, licensing, and storage controls
Collaborate with vendors and DevOps teams to automate environments through CI/CD pipelines
Release Leadership
Own the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple squads and vendors
Define and manage the release calendar, governance gates, and CAB inputs
Coordinate complex, multi-system releases across integrated platforms
Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and rollback strategies
Lead post-release reviews and drive continuous improvement
Stakeholder & Program Engagement
Work closely with Squad Leads, Architects, Product Owners, and Vendors
Act as a trusted partner to delivery teams, enabling smooth and predictable releases
Support EPMO governance, audit readiness, and reporting requirements
Contribute to budget planning, cost tracking,



and performance reporting
What You Bring
Experience & Leadership
7+ years in Environment & Release Management, DevOps, or Delivery leadership roles
Experience operating in Agile environments (Jira, iterative delivery models)
Background as an Iteration Manager, Delivery Manager, or Release Manager highly regarded
Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and vendors in complex programs
Technical Capability
You bring strong breadth across modern platforms and cloud ecosystems: Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CE & F&O;) Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Pages) Azure / AWS / Cloud Engineering (AWS experience highly regarded) MuleSoft (or similar integration layer) CI/CD pipelines, Git Flow, Azure DevOps / VSO Exposure to containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) beneficial
