Metro Mining Limited (ASX: MMI) is an Australian mining company based in Brisbane. Metro's flagship project, the Bauxite Hills Operation, located 95km north of Weipa, is one of the largest independent projects within the internationally acclaimed Weipa Bauxite Region.
We are looking for a PCEW/Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical who will be responsible in managing the team of qualified electricians, tradesmen and fitters to execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities. The PCEW/Maintenance Supervisor must ensure that the maintenance function is carried out within the Company Policies and Procedures with all work completed using the appropriate safety systems and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all Company policies and procedures are followed, particularly Safety and Environmental in the department.
Person in Statutory control of electrical work on site.
To improve performance and reliability of all fixed plant.
To manage contractors with the contractor management guidelines to ensure the efficient and cost-effective use of resources.
Administer improvements and modifications to equipment recommended by manufacturer
Provide appropriate diagnostics tools and assistance to the maintenance teams
To assist with the scoping of corrective maintenance and shutdown activities.
Assist and advise with procedural changes e.g. Amendments to JSAs and SOPs
Follow up the reporting of any hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses immediately when they occur
Perform walk around inspections on completion of work to ensure the machines are in a safe working condition
Actively participate in all areas of work, encouraging teamwork and leading by example
Camp maintenance and camp yard maintenance.
Liaise with the warehouse management to ensure stock levels are kept at appropriate levels required and parts are expedited as required.
Other tasks as required.
PCEW:
Ensuring electrical work is planned, conducted and supervised in accordance with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act ****, associated Regulations, recognised standard, Electrical Safety Act **** (QLD), Electrical Safety Regulation **** (QLD) and site procedures.
Verifying that electrical work is undertaken only by competent and authorised persons.
Ensuring appropriate isolation, testing, lock-out/tag-out and electrical safety controls are implemented before electrical work commences.
Monitoring electrical work activities to ensure risks are identified, assessed and controlled to an acceptable level.
Ensuring electrical installations and equipment are maintained in a safe condition.
Stopping or suspending electrical work where an unacceptable level of risk exists.
Reporting electrical hazards, incidents and non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Providing advice to the Site Senior Executive regarding electrical safety risks, compliance obligations and required improvements.
Maintaining records,
documentation and statutory requirements relating to electrical work within their area of control.
About you
Must possess relevant Trade Qualification-electrical
First aid certificate
S1, S2, S3 / G1, G8, G9
Electrical Contractor licence
Minimum five (5) years mining experience
Minimum five (5) years frontline supervisory experience
PLC proficiency
Ability to operate machinery for movement and testing; light vehicles
Proficiency in conducting failure analysis and in the use of root cause investigation techniques.
Possess a basic knowledge of operational functions; electrical and mechanical skills
Proficiency in trade specific computer programs (CLASSIC/CATSIS/VIMS/ET)
Possess leadership and effective communication skills, showing a level of skilled maturity
Must display decisive making skills
Ability to analyse a situation and come up with a cost-effective solution
Pronto proficiency
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Physically fit and capable of performing the role
Willingness to work rostered shift work
Ability to obtain all certificates required to perform specific functions within the role
Computer proficiency
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Organised and able to meet deadlines.
